The Birth and Death of the Day

Hello to everybody and nobody.

I can never seem to keep a personal blog for much longer than 1 post. Whatever inspiration I begin with seems to fizzle out pretty fast. I have a very hard time organizing my thoughts. My right brain tends towards extreme abstraction, while my left brain wants to overanalyze and the two end up in chaotic disagreement like Madonna and Pat Robertson debating art.

I have no idea what direction this blog will take except to hopefully end up as a record of my musings and all that inspires me...what a unique concept for a blog.

For a little inspiration go check out the Austin based post rock band Explosions in the Sky. The title of this post, The Birth and Death of the Day is the title of the opening track to their latest album All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. While it is not the nostalgic masterpiece of The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place (a must hear album for any lover of music) All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone is just as epic in a way only EITS can create. If you are curious about their sound or are new to the world of post rock, you can check out their EP The Rescue for free...
